Original released in 1979 on Do It Records, Dirk wears White Sox was the debut album release from Adam & The Ants and has long remained a fan favourite. In the early 1980s the rights to Dirk were acquired from Do It Records by CBS and the album has seen several re-releases over the years with tracks removed from the running order and re-recorded versions added.

This expanded edition brings all of the tracks from the Do It Record's era, in their various versions together to create, for the first time, the definitive version of Dirk Wears White Sox. The tracklisting will be sequenced as per the original Do It Records release but also includes the later versions of Cartrouble as re-recorded by Adam and produced by Chris Hughes plus the original versions of Kick, Physical and Friends that never made it to the final tracklisting but were re-recorded a couple of years later as b-sides to the single releases from Kings Of The Wild Frontier.

The album will be packaged in a deluxe digi-pak with 12 page booklet featuring many rare or unseen photos from the early days of the Ants.

Outerspace which formed the basis of Ants Invasion.

Kraftwerk Catalogue will be available on September...
In a recent interview to italian newspaper La Stampa, Ralf
Hütter confirmed release of Kraftwerk remastered albuns
(The Catalogue) on September, 2004.

They will be available in separated pieces and as a box, with
the original artwork when they were first published.

The 8 albuns (Autobahn, Radioactivity, Trans Europe Express,
The Man Machine, Computer World, Electric Cafe, The Mix and
Tour de France Soundtracks ) will be published in CD and
vinyl, and later in Super Audio CD, in both English and
German versions.

There will not be unreleased material, only the official
material with some known bonus tracks. The only modification
will occurs with the album Electric Cafe, renamed as
TECHNOPOP, with the original graphics and design from
original project.

The first three records (Kraftwerk, Kraftwerk 2 and
Ralf & Florian) will be released too, after the Catalogue,
but as a separated package. The first three records weren't
released officialy on CD format until today, and only
available in bootlegs with material copied from the vinyl
versions were available.

The concerts of Kraftwerk Tour 2004 are being registered to
production of a DVD, to be released in the beginning of next
year

In retrospect, the album's first hit, a cover of the Righteous Brothers' "You've Lost That Lovin' Feeling," is actually somewhat misrepresentative; nothing else here is as retro or bombastic. More typical is the opening "How Does It Feel," a big sounding yet spare piece of twelve-string folk rock by way of the REVOLVER-era Beatles. There's also the ebullient pop soul of "Kiss on My List" and the cleverly self-referential neo-'50s street corner harmonizing of "Diddy Doo Wop (I Hear the Voices).

This was Hall and Oates' most commercially successful album, and in retrospect it's not hard to figure out why; almost every track is either diabolically catchy (just try listening to "Out of Touch" without immediately having the chorus resonate in your head for the next few weeks), danceable ("Method of Modern Love"), arena-rock bombastic ("Bank On Your Love") or all three at the same time ("Some Things Are Better Left Unsaid"). It also helped that H&O had an ear toward hip-hop before most of their contemporaries, as witness the brief mostly instrumental "Dance on Your Knees" that opens the album; it's practically a homage to the Sugar Hill Gang's "White Lines".
