Wenn ich das richtig in Erinnerung habe, dann hatte Roy Orbison den Titel 1987 oder 1988 bereits aufgenommen, aber nicht veröffentlicht, so dass Cyndi Lauper zwar 1989 offiziell eine Coverversion aufnahm, aber zumindest sie vor dem Original veröffentlichte.

Schwere Frage. Cyndi Lauper hat den Song vor Roy Orbison veröffentlicht. Allerdings war Roy Orbison schon tot, als es Cyndi veröffentlicht hat, muß es also definitiv vorher aufgenommen haben....

Es gibt noch von Nino de Angelo die deutsche Version "Ich fahr die Nacht" (komisches Deutsch, aber ok...) - erstmals aufgenommen 1993, erneut aufgenommen von Nino 2003 auf der CD "Zurück nach vorn"

"I Drove All Night" is the name of a song recorded by 1980's icon and singer Cyndi Lauper for her third album A Night to Remember, which was released in 1989. Da der erste OFFIZIELLE Release also von Cyndi war singt sie somit das ORIGINAL.
