80er Rock-Bands beim Bang Your Head

Das Line-Up in Ballingen beim dortigen 2-tägigen Metal-Festival wird 2004 wohl wieder ein Leckerbissen für Freunde des 80er-Rock. Bisher sind bestätigt:

White Lion
Magnum
Gotthard
Lillian Axe
U.F.O.
Angel
u.a.

Und ich hab's im Urin, daß wir auch Europe und Judas Priest in Bestbesetzung (also mit Tempest/Norum und Halford) dort sehen und hören werden.

Also das Rob bei Judas Priest eingestiegen ist wußte ich ja, aber seit wann ist John Norum wieder bei Europe??? Und vor allem wieso gibt es die auf einmal wieder? Irgendwie hab ich da echt was verpasst. Naja um so besser .

Europe is Back

EUROPE, Scandinavias biggest rockband ever is reuniting for a worldtour, new album and DVD.

The band, Joey Tempest, John Norum, Mic Michaeli, John Levén and Ian Haugland have long talked about getting back together.

"After the first band jam in years it felt so right, like we've just been away for a lunchbreak" ?

Mic Michaeli adds "Also, touring has always been a big part for the band and we look forward to some hard work again".

Their manager, Petri H. Lundén, founder/owner of the Gothenburg based artist management Talent Trust says "The market is absolutely crazy about the idea of Europe getting back together since they decided to split when
they were still at the top of their game, which in itself is unique. We and the band made a set-up which made the reunion decision inevitable".

"Ever since we started there has been something magic about this band?"
John Norum says.
"The new stuff sounds fresh and hard but still with the typical Europe melodies in focus" says Joey Tempest, ".. and extremely organic" John Norum finishes.

"With my new project Einstein/Marcello management, co-operation with Revolver film, producing other acts through GEM music in addition to the work with my coming soloalbum this in itself is to much for me to cope
with, let alone an Europe reunion" says Kee Marcello who has however promised to join the band on the forthcoming worldtour.

Negotiations are currently in progress with with recordcompanies regarding the release of the new CD and DVD, and promoters regarding the world tour.

The band currently declines any personal interviews due to heavy workload in writing and recording new material. Any requests should be forwarded to the bands management Talent Trust.

Jepp, das mit White Lion hatte ich irgendwo mal gelesen. Ich glaube in einem Bericht über die Reunion von XYZ .

Aber das mit Europe war jetzt völlig neu für mich! Ich begrüße diese Reunion von ganzem Herzen, auch wenn es mal wieder sichlich eine Sache des Geldes war . Und mit Kee Marcello im Management haben sie noch einen der ihren in den eigenen Reihen . Ich bin gespannt auf das neue Album!

ich auch. Vor allem weil mich 2000 fast der Schlag getroffen hat, als die mit ihrer "Countdown 2000" Techno Version aufgetreten sind.

Uarrrrgh! Jetzt haste mich aber wieder an etwas erinnert, das ich schon erfolgreich seit längerer Zeit verdrängt hatte *schüttel*brrrrr* .

Welch eine Version. Da rollte es einem nicht nur die Fussnägel hoch und drehte einem den magen um, sondern man bekam schlicht und ergreifend Ohrenkrebs von diesem musikalischen Verbrechen.

Es war wohl einfach mal wieder knapp um die Europe-Kassen bestellt und so haben sie ihren Segen gegeben oder aber irgendjemand anders besaß die Recht und meinte damit wohl den ultimativen Coup zu landen. Gelandet ist er und zwar voll auf der Fr***e .

ging wohl eher um die nicht mehr so gefüllte Europe Kasse. Die sind ja höchst persönlich angetreten, und als ich schon dachte, daß das alles nur wegen dem Jahrhundertwechsel war, kamen die auch noch mit nem Video dazu raus.

Aber, das war wohl ein Schuss vor den Ofen. Alte Fans konnten die damit nicht locken (im wahrsten Sinne des Wortes die waren ab) und Neue..nee nee.

Die Europe-Reunion just in diesem Jahr hat übrigens seine Hintergründe. In Schweden verjähren wohl die Steuerschulden nach 10 Jahren. Aufgelöst haben sie sich meines Wissens 1993. Und nur 10 Jahre später, tada .....

aber dann hätten die doch auch nicht an Silvester 2000 auftreten dürfen, oder galt das dann nicht, weil nicht offiziell als Band und mit anderer Musikrichtung.
