The Specials Announce Full UK Reunion Tour

The Specials have announced details of a full reunion tour,
which will take place next year.

The Coventry band, who split in 1981, will perform in venues
in Newcastle, Birmingham and London.

The group first hinted at their plans to reform in May.

Tickets for the tour go on sale tomorrow (December 3rd) at 9am
and will be available through Gigwise.com

[3] NME INTERVIEW DECEMBER 3RD

The Specials are reuniting for a 2009 tour to celebrate their
30th anniversary.

The legendary ska band have announced they are getting back
together to play a series of UK gigs next April.

In an exclusive interview in this week's issue of NME, which hits
newsstands tomorrow (December 3), frontman Terry Hall said that
the band were playing in 2009 to celebrate their significant
birthday.

"It's the right time to do it [reunite] - we talked about it at
25 but we weren't together enough. Now we're all getting on and
it feels comfortable again," he said.

Original members of the band including Hall, Neville Staple, Sir
Horace Gentleman, Roddy Radiation, Lynval Golding and John Bradbury
are all confirmed to play the gigs.

Hall revealed that Specials founder member Jerry Dammers is not set
to join the band on the tour, although relations between the two
parties are strong. "The door remains open to him," Hall said.

The gigs will mark the first time the Coventry band have officially
worked together since 1981. As NME.COM previously reported, members
of The Specials did play a secret show at this year's Bestival under
the title Terry Hall And Friends.

Tickets for the tour go on sale at 9am (GMT) on December 11.

Boah goil The Specials mit Terry Hall Reunion aber ohne Dammers shit..trotzdem die geilste Reunion seit Ultravox naja is eh 30 Jahre Twotonejubiliäum...hab die 1996 mal in Frankfurt gesehen ohne Terry Hall! mit Dammers joo war ganz ok...was mich net so umhaut is die Specialbeat live in Japan DVD 1992 schwache Performance beider Bands aber die Specials too much too young DVD is goil aber mit 70min vieel zu kurz!

Hab den ersten Bootleg gesehen vom BBC Testkonzert London vor 1 Woche Specials minus Jerry Dammers naja hauptsache Terry Hall is dabei!Sehr alt sind alle geworden und stimmschwach besonders Hall 2xGangsters,Man at C+A,Enjoy yourself,Little bitch,A message to Rudi..bei Jools Holland warnse auch..schwach das wichtigste Songs wie Too much too young,Rat Race,Ghosttown,Moonstomp,Niteklub etc. fehlten und auch wohl für die Minitour net vorgesehen sind die jetzt startet..
glaub wenn die zu uns kämen wärs noch schlechter als 1996 in FFM trotz Hall hier gehts wirklich NUR um Geld und net um 30 Jahre 2Toneidealismus!!!
